Andreas Kramer

Andreas Kramer has long worked as a photographer and author of travel reports and travel guides. He learnt his photographic trade in the 1980’s at the École d‘Arts appliqués in Vevey in Switzerland. Since then, he has travelled all over the world in his restless search for photographic motifs and exciting stories. In the year 2003, it occurred to him that Central Asia had so far enjoyed little photographic exploration, and that there existed hardly any travel books about this fascinating region. He therefore took expeditions to Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan und Kazakhstan. Kramer spent over a year in these former Soviet republics between 2004 and 2008, producing several reports and travel books, together with a multi-vision show, in which Andreas Kramer presents the impressive and varied landscapes and cultures of this region.
