Karl Lang

KARL LANG was born in Duisburg in 1932. After training as an industrial and ad photographer he worked for various image agencies. From 1965 to 1993 he was Director of the Photography section at the Thyssen Group. In 1985, he founded his own photo studio in Essen, which specialized in industrial photography. His travels have taken him to all seven continents, and his work has been included in countless exhibitions, winning awards in, among other places, Turin, Hong Kong, Newcastle, Fribourg and Johannesburg. In 2000, Karl Lang received the renowned World Press Photo Award for his photographic series entitled "Bridges" and his "Bridges" calendar won the International Kodak Photo Calendar Prize.
