Michael Nischke

MICHAEL NISCHKE was born in Berlin in 1956. He studied photographic engineering in Cologne, and has since worked as a photographic designer and author, principally for book and magazine publihers. In 1986 he opened a studio in Munich, "Image Plus". To date, Nischke, who has been appointed a member of the German Photographic Society (DGPh), has published 13 volumes of photographs, a number of which have received the Kodak Photo Book Prize. Michael Nischke attracted public attention with his unusual shots of people and landscapes, but increasingly it is also and indeed especially within the confines of cities that he finds his motifs. His impressions of the melancholy and morbid atmosphere in Havana, the Cuban capital, are available in book form "La Habana, Cuba" in EDITION PANORAMA BIBLIOTHEK. Michael Nischke runs his own gallery in Munich.
